I was not sure what the "open seating" option is that we have selected
for our meals on the cruise, so I asked. Our As You Wish dining is Holland America Line?s new innovative dining concept that provides more options for our guests. Since flexible dining options have become more desirable by many of our guests we offer guests the option for a fixed dining time, or our open dining. Guests on open dining can go to the lower level of the dining room anytime between 5:15pm-9pm nightly and be seated on a first come first serve basis. If there is a wait you will be given a pager, you can go into one of the lounges and we will page you when your table is ready. You can chose to have a quiet dinner for to or enjoy the company of a few others. Guests with open seating may make reservations daily during the cruise. The reservation line is generally open from 8am-4pm. Holland America Line manages reservations and guest preferences through a unique computer system ensuring the same efficient and high quality service for the open dining as with the traditional fixed format. We reserve the right to adjust the dining times based on operational needs. Specific times will be confirmed in your stateroom upon embarkation. Our main dining room offers open seating for breakfast and lunch on both the upper and lower levels. Please feel free to contact us if we may be of additional assistance.
