Holland-America cruise July 23 2010

This is my old identity photo from work, so I have aged a little since then, but it is still recognisable as me.   To help with this I have painted in a beard with Paint Shop Pro, since I am now in my Arctic cruising mode.   The beard saves shaving, and might help to keep me warm.   I can also break off and suck the icicles if I get stranded, to avoid de-hydration.

In the event the beard was not really a success, it was more like a pot scouring pad than soft eider-down.   Carol didn't like it and called me Captain Haddock.   I found it uncomfortable and irritating.   It took two days to remove it when I got back.   Next time I'll just shave as normall, it will save a lot of bother.
