Kiss the Girls (1997)

A gripping thriller

Morgan Freeman is a forensic psychologist, a role well known to us now from films like Hannibal, The Bone Collector and many others.   He gets involved in a case outside his area when his niece is abducted by a serial killer.  Ashley Judd plays a doctor who is abducted by this same person but manages to escape.  We follow the pair as they home in to the perpetrator, sometimes assisting the police, sometimes getting under their feet.  To hide the identity of the real villain other suspects are brought in to the plot, but some of this is done in a confusing way.  Confusion is OK on the journey, but if used to throw us off the trail, we need rationalisation in the denouement.  At the end of the film we were left with some things not clear; what was the relationship between the suspects?  If we brush these aside though, it is an entertaining evenings viewing.
